It is pouring down here today, and very mild, I can almost see everything sprouting and growing outside. I couldn’t resist going out in the rain to scatter a few more seeds among the flower beds, and then went for my run. It felt a bit like I was swimming a few lengths of the pool today as I sloshed through the puddles, rain dripping down my neck. There were no lambs to trip over today!
Mist, the sheep dog pup, is in disgrace again, she dared to rip two wild roses I have carefully nurtured from cuttings last year from their tub and drag them and the surrounding compost all across the patio. I have rescued them and moved them to the front of the house, out of harm’s way. She is now looking very sheepish, I think she only wanted the empty tub to join the rest of her collection of scattered, chewed plant pots, one watering can, two old pots of paint and a chewed up pillow case. How is your puppy Milla?!
The happy farmer has been turning the kitchen upside down again, adding a few more ‘finishing’s’ to his renovations, so I have found time to escape to the computer. The lambing is slowing down now. Farmer T is delivering another pet lamb for us later, he has one he wants rid of, and it will solve the three children two lambs dilemma that we are currently facing.
There was big excitement here yesterday. In birthdays I am creeping closer to that one that takes you over the almighty big hill, being a 1967 babe, Woozle still hasn’t given me a response as to whether she is also heading for the big hill when she refers to 1967! Anyway, with a party approaching in a month or so, and a wedding to go to on Jura, plus my sister in law’s 40th, I thought I had a good enough excuse to venture online and try and solve the ‘what to wear’ issue. I was caught red handed by my two daughters, elder one immediately started cruising sites for her outfit, and before I knew it they had both emptied out their drawers and wardrobes to assemble ‘their’ party gear. They appeared just before tea, looking stunning; each beautifully clad, hair all done, shoes chosen. The youngest did look a little disappointed as she enquired when the party was going to be,
‘Oh not for weeks and weeks and weeks yet pet, months even’ I lied. Well I am desperately clinging onto my thirties until the very last possible moment.
‘Are we going to have healthy food at the party?’ she asked.
‘Would you like to organise the party food?’ I asked my seven year old daughter.
‘Oh yes please, because we are going to need plates and plates of those party ring biscuits!’ was her reply. Luckily I have got plenty of time to go and buy all those packets and packets of party ring biscuits, must get on and organise that party now!
Until next time…
aha they sound like the pink orange and white iced ones are the ? Eldest got her first male admirer through them. She was 3 , it was his fourth birthday she ran at him from across the room and rugby tackled him to the floor. He was very impressed with her after that!
ReplyDeleteah, the joys of lambing, friend marcia has now had 2 days of 'fun' with lambs that just don't want to leave the 'nest'.
